The History of Hold My Beer...
Back in 2006, Hold My Beer was purchased for $600. Afterwards she was moved, so graciously by my loving, adoring & understanding wife, from Beale AFB to Oakdale, Ca where unfortunately she was put out to pasture for 10 years.
Then late one night in 2016, my wife left me unattended... and a conversation with Dirk began. The concept for my Hold My Beer began to take shape.
We started with the motor. In order to stay with in the rules of the 6000 Super Stock Class, the decision was made to go with a "little" 535ci motor (unfortunately for our readers the internal specs are still classified, with a super secret squirrel clearance is needed).
Once the motor was locked down, the next big hurtle was to figure out the color scheme. Who better to ask then a 5-year old little girl. That being said, HMB color scheme is pink, purple & blue, which are three of the hardest colors to match.
Next, we had to tackle the design of the weight box & fuel delivery system. The weight box was designed & manufactured by one of our wonderful sponsors, and with the fuel tank being found at an undisclosed location & donated.
With the patina being all natural, we decided to leave the outside of HMB undisturbed, which in turn allowed us to focused our attention on the interior & running gear.
As HMB is a project, and projects are never done, there will be more to come in the near future...
